Embarking on Love’s Journey to a Sedona Elopement

Embarking on Love’s Journey to a Sedona Elopement

Isn’t it amazing how love effortlessly defies boundaries? Joe & Stephanie’s story is living proof of this truth. Imagine a British heart and a South African soul, united by a love that knew no limits, spanning oceans and continents. Fueled by their love for nature and the special place the United States held in their hearts, magical red rocks became the backdrop to their Sedona elopement. This scenic canvas beautifully reflected their adventurous love story. Forever etched into the heart of Arizona.

Sedona as an Elopement Location

Sedona is an absolute gem for your desert elopement – one of Arizona’s most sought-after spots for a reason! Its vibrant landscape bursts with colors: the dramatic red rocks, the expansive blue sky, and the lush greenery of juniper and mesquite trees. The mystical town is, quite simply, a stunner. Personally, it’s one of my favorite Arizona elopement locations! Nestled between Flagstaff and Phoenix, Sedona captures the desert’s heart with its famous red rocks and offers incredible hiking trails and killer views. Beyond its natural beauty, there are a blend of modern amenities. Making it a perfect place to exchange vows amidst breathtaking landscapes while enjoying all the comforts you need.

Their story started..

When fate had them both living in South Africa at the same time, and from that point on, history was in the making! Their shared love for travel led them to Monument Valley, where Joe proposed. This marked the beginning of their deepening connection to the US. With that memory leaving a lasting imprint in their hearts as a truly unforgettable moment. With their ongoing long-distance relationship due to work commitments, they found it meaningful to choose a middle ground for their elopement, a place that resonates with both of them. Hence a Sedona elopement!

Elopement Day Itinerary

We started the day by meeting with them at their AirBnb. They chose to skip getting ready photos and wait to kick off the coverage at Bell Rock. Once we got to bell rock we started with their first look and then went right into the ceremony. They got married on one of the flat rocks at Bell Rock so you could see beautiful 360 views! Once we finished taking a few photos there we all hopped into our cars and their parents dropped us off at Cathedral rock. We hiked all the way to the top to the iconic cliff and took as many photos as we could before the sun went down! It was so beautiful. J & S booked our combo 4 hour photo and video package which was the perfect amount for their ceremony, a second location and photos with their family!

One thing to note about Cathedral rock

Now with the tram system I only shoot weddings there Monday- Wednesday because they close the parking lots on the weekends for the transportation buses. With weekday weddings it gives us a lot more freedom with it not being as busy! Also just to be safe I always recommend having someone drop us off just in case the parking lot is full. It’s very tiny and Cathedral rock is one of the most popular hikes in Sedona!

Some Client Love

We had such a wonderful experience with them on our elopement! Plus got some incredible photos and a beautiful video to remember the day by. They made us feel completely at ease. Directed us in a way that was easy to understand and guided through everything brilliantly. We can’t recommend these two enough! And they’re absolutely lovely too.
