If you’re into hiking, you’ve probably heard of the West Fork Trail, it’s a favorite among folks in the Coconino National Forest! It’s just a short 9.5-mile drive north of Sedona, Arizona, and it takes you on a beautiful journey through Oak Creek Canyon.
The trail meanders along the creek, which is a great opportunity to splash around with your partner for fun and candid engagement photos! The West Fork Trail truly offers the best of both worlds! You’ll find lots of greenery, the famous Arizona `red rocks, and even a charming little river with a big bridge spanning over it!
I just love how many different shots that you can get at West Fork Trail! From the open meadows, the creek, and the red rocks – this location has it all!
My Top Tips When Planning an Engagement Session at West Fork Trail in Sedona
Here’s my top tip: always bring water! Arizona heats up fast, and staying hydrated will make your engagement shoot way more comfortable. Wear comfy shoes for the hike, and you can switch to your nicer ones once we get to the perfect spot.
Since the West Fork Trail has a few creek crossings, choose shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit wet. If you really want to keep your feet dry, you can hike along the creek sides instead!
The trail is super popular, so try to get there early to snag a parking spot and avoid any crowds during your shoot!
If you’re bringing your pup like Abigail and Kayden did, pack extra water and treats for them. Don’t forget their leash, so I can help manage them while we take photos without them in the frame!
