Lake Havasu City, Arizona Wedding

Paige and Matt’s Lake Havasu Wedding was one for the books for sure. I had a blast working with them and this wedding really pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed everyone second of it. Paige and Matt were such a joy to capture, not to mention their big family! Their wedding was a giant party with lots of tequila shots and Miller High Life’s, the vibes were an amazing way to start their marriage.

Through the photos, you can literally feel the togetherness and love. Everyone attending the wedding was there to REALLY celebrate Paige and Matt’s love for each other…which is all you can ask for from your wedding guests. Who doesn’t love to be eternally supported by everyone special in their life?! I will always remember this EPIC wedding. After their wedding they did not want the fun to end so they had a HUGE beach party with everyone at their wedding the day after. It was seriously so much fun to see everyone again and to capture the giant party.

Their Story:

“In 2010, our story began the night I threw a party at my house with close friends. Matthew showed up to the party, uninvited, and charmed me into falling in love with him. We didn’t start to date right away though. For the eight years that followed, we kept finding our way back into each other’s lives. We genuinely ended up as best friends for years, until we realized we were always supposed to be together. I always knew my heart was his. After years of wonderful memories created in beautiful places like Lake Havasu, Europe, Australia, and Canada, we moved into our quaint beach apartment to start our lives together. in 2018, Matthew and I were on vacation in the very small and special village of Kozarica, Croatia. The location itself was especially meaningful because it was home to our beautiful best friend, Pavi. We were there celebrating her life after she passed away a few months before. with her family so I literally had no idea he would even think to do it that trip, but it honestly couldn’t have happened anywhere else.

Before dinner, Matthew and I grabbed a glass of wine and went to the Riva to watch the sunset. After reflecting on the beauty of Croatia, he brought out the most stunning ring. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most unbelievable and heartwarming moment ever! After this surreal moment, we were greeted with many hugs, enjoyed a delicious homemade dinner amongst loved ones, drank wine, and just simply celebrated love.”

Their Favorite Moment From Their Lake Havasu Wedding:

“We definitely had the most fun on the dance floor with all of our friends (our DJ was AMAZING). Getting ready with all of my girlfriends was so much fun as well. Also taking photos after the wedding with my new husband at sunset. We had 30 mins of time alone and I soaked up those quick moments. I knew it would be the only time we would get to cherish alone time together before the chaos began.”’

Their Inspiration For Their Lake Havasu Wedding:

“I always knew I wanted a unique wedding. I have always liked different styles and strayed away from being cliche. My favorite color is black and I knew I wanted dark/moody vibes throughout the decor. I have always loved antiques and vintage feels. I also wanted different textures and materials. I mixed in velvets and leathers. I used black, champagne, neutrals, touches of mauve, and mixed metals, but mostly gold. “

Advice for Future Brides:

As silly as it sounds, relax and do not stress yourself out the day of. If you know me, this makes no sense because I stress about everything! I knew I had to get into a relaxed mindset to be able to soak everything in and enjoy every moment. Stressing out about everything will just ruin your day. You can’t get this day back, so make the most of it!

Spend a little time alone in the morning when you wake up. Grab some coffee and sit outside, go on a short walk, or do some yoga. I woke up early, took a 5 minute walk, and reflected on how I wanted the day to go. After, I felt so relaxed, excited, and so ready to start the day. Fresh air does wonders.

It is totally okay to be fun and different! Whether it be the decor you pick, the dress, or the whole vibe of the wedding. Things aren’t so traditional anymore. I am all about standing out from the norm and adding my own touch into it.

Things will go wrong, but it is okay! This was something I learned the hard way. SO many things did not go according to plan on my wedding day and actually like the whole week leading up to the wedding, but I had to just remain in a positive attitude. Which is extremely hard for me because I am a perfectionist! Just remember, you and your wedding planner will be the only ones that notice, no one else will know that behind the scenes there are issues. Everything will still turn out amazing!

Stick to the timeline as much as you can! Time slips away very quickly.

Bring some powder, lipstick, eyeliner, whatever you use for touch ups. Designate to a person to keep for you and have them remind you to touch up. You will thank yourself later when you look back at pictures that are taking after the ceremony.Paige is an event planner herself, so she had a very specific vision of what their wedding was going to be. She wanted to have a unique wedding with someone who could capture the raw moments that a wedding has to offer. They wanted to have a very moody vibe with blacks and whites, lots of greenery, and browns. Once Paige said that I knew I was all in. Matt and Paige were literally describing my ideal, dream wedding to photograph…so to say I was excited was an understatement.
