When Elizabeth picked Horseshoe Bend for their formal wedding attire session I almost screamed because it is one of my favorite spots in Arizona! We decided to go on a week day (which I HIGHLY recommend) to try and avoid the crowds! It ended up paying off because there was almost no one around. All three of us hiked to the canyon and then they changed into their wedding attire and this magic happened! Since there were not that many people around, I was able to get the best landscape photos of them!! I totally hiked up the side of the cliff to get them. Always thankful that I keep my non slip hiking boots in my car.

During sunset all of the bugs that were swarming us all day, created a beautiful effect when the sun was setting!! Highly recommend bringing some big spray (will make sure to put that in my bag for next time!)

It was so good to see these two again because I photographed their wedding last year! I was totally instagram stalked their recent travels for their honeymoon (no shame)!

Here is the story on how they met through Elizabeth’s eyes:

“Jeffrey and I met at his 30th birthday party after he had just moved to Arizona from South Dakota. His birthday is on Halloween, which is one of my favorite holidays. His aunt invited me to come so that I could meet her nephew. (blind date you could say). Our first meet did not go too well. I hardly said two words to him while stuffing my face with chips and salsa. It wasn’t until a few weeks later or so we went on our first date and even after that date, there almost wasn’t a second or third date. (On our second date he took me to the Phillips Phillips concert which is now an annual thing) But, he was persistent and that’s how we ended up married! The proposal took place in May 2017 at the Coronado Dog Beach in California with our two pups. I had no clue this was happening! He proposed on the beach with no one in sight at sunset. It was pretty romantic.”

It has been such a pleasure to capture their engagement session, wedding and formal wedding session!

Formal wedding attire sessions are always my FAVORITE to capture! it allows you two to put on your wedding attire again and go explore a rad location that you have been dreaming of.
