Jen and Zack wanted something a little different for their engagement session, so we decided to make our way up to Payson, Arizona and hike to my favorite hidden waterfall.
These two met on Spring Break almost 6 years ago in Lake Havasu, Arizona. I thought it was so awesome because I go there every year with my family at that exact time. It’s such a blast and I highly recommend it!!
After a few years of being together Jennifer moved to the east coast for her master’s degree and they did long distance for a while and then moved back to Arizona in June. Zack proposed to Jen at Papago park during sunset and all of their best friends surrounded them to celebrate.
From the moment I met Jen and Zack for a drink we instantly clicked, and it made me that more excited to capture their engagement session and also their wedding next year! For their engagement session they totally trusted me as I took them on a crazy hike to this waterfall and may or may not have gotten slightly off the trail. It was an adventure to say the least. After about an hour hike, we finally made it and we were the ONLY ONES!!! It is always my favorite when we can avoid a crowd.
Some of the things that you don’t see in these images is that I got knee deep in the water in my leggings and boots to capture them (gotta get that shot haha!) We ended the night by popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate their engagement and a blue hour swim. Since we finished the session during blue hour, we hiked back in the complete dark!! #adventrousweddingphotographer . There were so many random scary noises from frogs (I am hopping) and since we couldn’t see too well I ended up falling knee deep into the water! Totally wouldn’t change it for the world because it made for some good laughs at the end of the night.
So excited to see these two again in April to capture their wedding day.
