Buffalo Park is one of those places that doesn’t even feel real. If you want engagement photos that have that Pinterest vibe of you running around in a field with a little bit of a candid, cinematic, blurry effect… This is the place for you. 

Photographer’s tip: plan your session around sunset here. If we start shooting an hour or two before the sun goes down, we’ll get soft light that gives summer engagement photos the dreamiest effect.

Woods Canyon Lake & Mogollon Rim

Waterfront pics + mountain view pics = peak Payson vibes. And Woods Canyon Lake/Mogollon Rim? It brings it. 

Engagement photos here are 10/10 every time, because there’s so much variety in the area. It’s one of those spaces that lets your romance fill up every inch of it in a way that makes me think, “Oh yeah, this is exactly what this spot was meant for.” 

Photographer’s tip: Taking engagement photos a little bit before sunset here? Peak. The light hitting off the water scratches my photographer brain and makes the most gorgeous pics. And then sunset at Mogollon Rim is genuinely one of the most beautiful things you’ll ever see in your life. 

Hidden Waterfalls

Payson has some hidden waterfalls, and the romantic vibes they give?? I’m obsessed every time. If you want engagement pictures that look like a film still, let me know. I’ll help you find some of the best little hidden gems. 

Photographer tip: depending on where we’re headed, a bit before sunset is usually best for waterfall photos to make sure we get the best light. I also always recommend bringing a change of clothes, especially if you’re getting in the water (which is always gonna be a suggestion of mine)! 

Hidden Creeks

Photographer’s tip: Again, photos work best here about 2 hours before sunset. The light hits in between the rocks perfectly, and it gives us enough time to get back to our cars before it gets dark if we had to take a trail here (which is always a high possibility).

Salt River is one of those places that just makes sense for summer engagement photos. Getting in the river and taking the cutest dang pictures you’ve ever seen? Love. This engagement photo location is perfect for the couples who want something a little editorial and a little different than your typical AZ desert engagement photos. 

Photographer’s tip: sunrises and sunsets here are incredible. The lighting is insane, and there’s usually no one around, which makes a huge difference in how comfortable you feel in front of the camera. 

Sedona Engagement Photo Locations

Sedona? The spot for desert engagements in the summer without it being way too hot. The engagement photo location that I’m obsessed with here is Oak Creek, and trust me… You won’t want to overlook it. 

Oak Creek

Oak Creek has the desert views that, when you think of Arizona, you just automatically picture. The rock formations make the editorial engagement photos out of literal dreams, and if you want that classic AZ feel, it’s for you. 

Photographer’s tip: summer sunset or sunrise engagement photos here are basically the only acceptable ones. Kidding, but am I?
