1. Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake is gorgeous. Imagine towering canyon walls, sparkling blue water, and that perfect golden light reflecting off the surface. This spot is just an hour outside Phoenix, but you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another world! 

Taylor and Doug’s session here was filled with that kind of light that just makes everything glow, while Amanda and Jon embraced the wide-open views and peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re standing on the shore or walking along the dock, this location delivers both dreamy and dramatic vibes.

2. Salt River

If you’re looking for something that feels a little more lush and wild, the Salt River is your spot. It’s such a hidden gem—an oasis in the middle of the desert. Between the flowing water, the tall trees, and even a few wild horses if you’re lucky, this place is absolutely stunning!

Annie and Trevor’s maternity session was so peaceful! The gentle flow of the river created a peaceful backdrop for some super intimate moments.  And with Lisa and Seth, we nailed that earthy yet adventurous feel, turning the whole session into a fun escape into nature!

Best Time of Year to Visit Canyon Lake + Salt River

The best time to visit Canyon Lake and Salt River is definitely in the spring or fall! 

From March to May, the weather is just perfect—mild temps and wildflowers blooming everywhere. It’s like a dream for those sun-kissed photos without sweating buckets!

Then from September to November, you’ve got cooler air and fewer crowds, plus those landscapes are still lush from summer monsoons!.

If you’re thinking about summer, early mornings or late evenings can help you avoid the heat, and winter still offers plenty of sunshine, just with a cooler breeze.
